This Privacy Policy explains how Sofia Sidera Law Firm (“the Firm”, “we”) collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you visit sofiasidera.gr, send us a message or book online legal advice, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Greek Law 4624/2019.
1. Data controller
The data controller is Sofia Sidera Law Firm, 7 Ioanni Vilara St, 54625 Thessaloniki, Greece, tel. +30 231 5006 265, email info@sofiasidera.gr.
2. What data we collect
- Contact form: your full name, email, phone number, the content of your message and any files you attach (kept privately and deleted together with the message).
- Online session booking: your full name, email, phone number, the description of your case, the date, time and type of session, and payment details (amount, method, confirmation).
- Card payment: you enter your card details directly on the payment provider’s page (Stripe). The Firm never sees or stores card numbers.
- Browsing: anonymous visit statistics (page, country based on your browser’s time zone, device type, where you came from). No cookies are used for this and your IP address is not stored; the anonymous visitor code changes every day, so you cannot be identified.
- Security: to protect against abuse, the IP address of anyone who sends a message or makes a booking is recorded temporarily.
3. Purposes and legal basis
- To reply to your message and contact you (steps taken at your request before a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To schedule and hold the legal consultation you booked, and to send confirmations and reminders (performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To issue receipts and meet our tax and professional obligations (legal obligation, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
- To keep the website secure and improve it through anonymous statistics (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Lawyer–client confidentiality
Everything you entrust to us through the form, the booking or during the session is covered by lawyer–client confidentiality, as provided by the Greek Lawyers’ Code and applicable law.
5. Who has access to your data
Your data is never sold or shared with third parties for advertising. Only the following have access:
- the Firm’s lawyers and associates handling your request, bound by confidentiality;
- the website and email hosting provider (Hostinger), solely for technical operation;
- the card payment provider (Stripe), only to complete your payment;
- Google (reCAPTCHA), to protect the contact form from spam;
- Zoom, when the session takes place via Zoom;
- public authorities, only when required by law.
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, this is done with the appropriate GDPR safeguards (e.g. the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses).
6. How long we keep data
Messages and bookings are kept as long as their purpose requires and as long as tax and legal-profession rules demand. Anonymous statistics are deleted automatically after 400 days. When data is no longer needed, it is deleted securely.
7. Security
The website runs only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Only authorised people with a personal password can access the data, passwords are stored encrypted, and an activity log is kept.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access your data, and to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability and objection, as well as the right to withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. To exercise them, write to info@sofiasidera.gr; we will reply within one month.
If you believe the processing breaches the GDPR, you can lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr, 1-3 Kifisias Ave, 11523 Athens).
9. Terms of the online legal consultation
- The session provides general guidance or a pre-litigation assessment and does not replace full court representation.
- Using the service does not mean the Firm takes on your case, unless expressly agreed by written instruction and power of attorney.
- The booking is final once payment is confirmed. To change or cancel it, please contact us as soon as possible.
10. Cookies
For cookies and similar technologies, see the Cookie Policy.
11. Changes
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top of the page shows the latest update.
